Edit Zoom Settings

Setting a lower value for the frame rate per second when sharing your screen can fix this issue at times. So, here’s what you need to do:

  • Open Zoom.
  • Tap on your profile picture.
  • Next, select Settings > Share Screen > Enable Remote Control of all applications.
  • Thereafter, select Advanced option and set frames per second(fps) value to below 10.
  • Finally, save these settings and get down to check the effect.

Enabled Necessary Permissions

Zoom application needs device permission like access to your microphone and camera. Preventing it from accessing your microphone and camera may also block additional features of the app, such as the ability to share your screen. So, let’s see how to grant the necessary permissions:

  • Go to Settings and select Privacy.
  • Now, select Camera under the App Permissions.
  • Thereafter, check : “Allow access to the camera on this device” and “Allow apps to access your camera”.
  • Next, go to Allow desktop apps to access your camera and make sure Zoom is in the list.
  • Similarly, do it for microphone too.
  • Now what? Enjoy !! 🙂

Disable other apps using camera

If there are other apps running in the background that might be using your camera and microphone or interfering with Zoom, disable them. For example, maybe you were using Teams or Meet for that matter, before but forgot to kill the corresponding processes. So:

  • Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to launch the Task Manager.
  • Now, under Processes tab, select all unnecessary application and tap “End Task”.

Uninstall and Reinstall Zoom

If you still can not share your device screen via Zoom, uninstall and reinstall the app.

PC Users
  • Open Control Panel.
  • Go to Programs > Uninstall a Program.
  • Select Zoom > Uninstall
  • Thereafter, restart your system and download Zoom again and enjoy!
Smartphone Users
  • Tap and hold the Zoom app and click on Uninstall.
  • Next, open Google Play Store(Android) / App Store(iOS).
  • Now, Go to “Apps & My Games”.
  • Search for Zoom.
  • Then, click on Install to reinstall Zoom and enjoy it again!

Want to use Zoom on your Smart TV? Here’s the guide that you need !! ~~> ~~>

Check Zoom Room Settings

You may do well to check if the participants’ screen sharing is enabled for the zoom room. Sometimes you can not screen share because the host has disabled “Participant screen sharing” for that particular meeting. Usually, this setting is disabled by default and only allows the host to screen share. So, the host may have overlooked this setting and forgotten to enable it for “All Attendees”.

Thus, if you are the host, you can enable the screen sharing settings as follows:

PC Users
  • Click on the arrow by the Share Screen button and select “Advanced Sharing Options…”.
  • Next, under “Who can share?”, check the ” All participants” option.

Smartphone Users
  • Click More (three dots) button present at the bottom right corner.
  • Then, on the Meeting Settings page, under “Allow participants”, turn on the Share screen option.

Check if another person has started sharing their screen

If another person in the meeting decides to share their screen while you are giving a presentation, that person will replace you as the main presenter and the screen share will be hidden but not removed. All you have to do:

  • Select Continue Presentation via the Share button.
  • If you share your phone screen via the Google Meet app, you will be interrupted by another user sharing their screen.
  • You will need to restart your screen share to take over as the main presenter.
