Cached credentials have expired

Fixing the issue

  • Firstly, navigate to the icon of OneDrive that is available on your Taskbar.
  • Secondly, do a right-click on the OneDrive icon and click on the option of  Settings.

  • Now open the tab Office. There you will see the option of “Use Office applications to sync office tiles that I open.” You have to uncheck the box in front of that option.

  • Firstly, quit all your Office apps.
  • Secondly, navigate to Control Panel>User Accounts>Credential Manager>Windows Credentials>Generic Credentials>remove all credentials related to Office.
  • Lastly, you can try open MS Word and sign in. Then, open any document and try doing some changes to it and saving them.
