How to get water out of iphone speakers:
Before we get started:
Earlier iphones were not so water resistant. But iphone after 7 are all water, dust and splash resistant. But as you know water resistant is not for all the time. And it might decrease as you start using it for the long time. And there is no warranty for it with iphone. Here is a list of it.
- iPhone 6 and older – no water resistance
- iPhone 7 and 7 Plus- IP67
- iPhone 8 and 8 Plus – IP67
- iPhone X and XR- IP67
- iPhone Xs and Xs Max- IP68
- iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max- IP68
- iPhone SE 2020- IP68
- iPhone 12 Mini, 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max- IP68
IP68 under IEC standard 60529 means that your phone can experience the depth of 2 meters for 30 mins. While the SE iphone can hold in 1 meter for 30 mins and while the 12 series can hold upto 6 meters for 30 mins. That is the best option they have given.
How to get water out of iphone speakers:
So if your are near a sea or near a pool. Or you drop some tea or cold drink on it. The first thing you do is clean the phone with normal speed running water. Then wipe it clean with a cloth. And then keep this in mind you do not turn on the phone until the water inside is evaporated because there might be some water inside. That can short circuit the phone.
With a Website:
So surprisingly there is a magic website that can help you get water out of your iphone speakers. Just visit this website fixmyspeakers.com. And i don’t how you feel about this but this website only does one thing. Gets water out of the speakers. You just have to tap the big button which shows water getting out. And then for stopping you just have to tap it again once the water stops getting out of the speaker.
With an App:
This method is one that requires a little bit of labour. This will require you download an app and then play a sound on the low frequency. That will bring out the water droplets slowly slowly. For this you have to Power on the phone and then download the app from the App store Sonic app. After downloading the app you have to just select the frequency you want basically it is between 100-200 Hz. And water will slowly trickle out of the speaker.
Soon you will see the water coming out of the grills and let the app run for few minutes and then just wipe the grill when the water stops coming out. You just have to repeat the process to ensure the water is completely out of the speaker. And after that just run some songs or video to ensure that speakers are working fine.
However the frequency can be monotonous and cant be very helpful to get the water out of the speakers.
With Siri Everything is Possible:
You can try a shortcut known as Water Eject if you have Siri Shortcuts downloaded on your phone. This works same as the Sonic App, i.e. plays a sound which forces water out of the speaker grill instantly. The working is mentioned below:
You have to install the Shortcuts App from the App Store. After it is downloaded install Water Eject using this link. After the installation, you just have to run it by tapping the shortcut icon from the Shortcut App.
The sound frequency that would be played will no be audible to human ears but it will start spitting out water from the grills. After doing this, you just have to play an audio file for confirming that the normal sound of the speaker has returned.
