Google Docs usage with no internet connection

Google Docs is no doubt a very fantastic cloud based processor as long as you have an internet connection. But sometimes you need to access the files even when you do not have a working internet connection. We will tell you to how to access your documents even in the absence of internet with Google Docs.

For this you will need a chrome browser or chromium-based browser, as this extension will not work on other browsers such as Safari or Firefox. Besides, this can be used even for other Google apps like sheets, Forms and Slides.

Firstly, Search Google Docs Offline in chrome web store. Then, click on “Add in chrome”.

Once you add the extension, you will have to go to manage the extension and make sure that extension is turned on.

Additionally, you get a lot of other options which you can select according to your need.

Now, go back to Google Docs and click on the main menu on the upper left side of the screen. Then, click on settings.

Make sure that on the setting window, the “Offline” feature is turned on.

By doing so, you have allowed Google to save your documents offline.

Now, you will have to select the document which you want to save offline. For this, go to the required document and click on the bottom of the file on the menu and then select “Available offline”.

 Then, at the bottom of the file you will see a small available offline icon.

For Smartphones:

This can also work on smartphones and tablets. But in case of phones, you don’t need to add any extension but simply click on the “Available offline” icon from the top right menu. This will make your document available offline.
